On the morning of July 19, Prof. Iraklis Varlamis from Harokopio University of Athens, Greece, visited our school. Song Shaojing, Vice Dean of School of Computer Science and Information Technology, Du Yi, Director of Department of Artificial Intelligence, Gong Yumei, teacher of Electronic Information Engineering, and Wang Jiahui, teacher of Data Science and Big Data Technology, received guests and participated in the discussion and exchange. This is a further advancement of the work after Wu Peidong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, led a team to visit Hari Kopei University in Athens, Greece in March.

Song Shaojing, on behalf of the School, welcomed Prof. Iraklis Varlamis and introduced the basic situation of the School of Computer Science and Information Technology, the distribution of disciplines, research results, talent training and international cooperation. He said that in the rapid development of information technology, the School of Computer Science and Information Technology has been expanding international cooperation, deepening the international cooperation mode with international partner institutes, and improving the quality of talent cultivation. We are looking forward to more interactions with Harekope University of Athens, Greece in the future, giving full play to their respective advantages, forming closer cooperation, and working together for pragmatic win-win situation.

Prof. Iraklis Varlamis expressed his appreciation for the scientific research strength, experimental conditions and international cooperation results of our School, and introduced the basic situation, discipline distribution, research results, talent training and international cooperation of the School of Information and Communication of Hare Koppel University of Athens, Greece, and expressed his full confidence in the deepening of joint research cooperation between the two sides in the next step. 

The two sides carried out in-depth and fruitful exchanges in the areas of talent cultivation program (graduate level), interdisciplinary and international cooperation, and reached a consensus: to jointly promote the signing of university-level agreements to provide institutional guarantee for the cooperation between the two sides; to explore the mode of cooperation in postgraduate cultivation and doctoral joint cultivation, and to make joint efforts to expand the path of postgraduate cultivation to improve the quality of talent cultivation; to jointly apply for the European Union projects, China-Greece programs and other intergovernmental international cooperation programs to promote scientific research cooperation and academic exchanges. The two sides will also work together to apply for EU projects, Sino-Greek projects and other international projects to promote joint research cooperation and academic exchanges. At the same time, Song Shaojing invited Prof. Iraklis Varlamis to participate in the subsequent IEEE international conferences to be held by the university as a keynote speaker.
